Attention book lovers and gamers: Bookmans Phoenix is seeking hard-working, media-savvy individuals for full-time positions in Books and Electronics.
In honor of Bookmans' "Lightbulb" t-shirt making its feature film debut in Greg Mottola's Adventureland, we're giving away a pass for two to see the movie. All you have to do is send us a photo of yourself wearing the very same shirt.
On Monday, April 6th, Bookmans begins its long-awaited remodel of Bookmans Mesa. In addition to the installation of a full-service cafe with a variety of coffee and gelato, customers can expect expansion of our Music, Movies, and Video Game/Electronics sections, an expanded trade counter, and a revitalized Kids Area.
Awesome. That's right, I said it -- AWESOME! Books are awesome. Reading is awesome. School kids and teachers and librarians are awesome. Why you ask? Because during the first two months of the Bookmans' Reading Challenge, students from the 41 participating elementary schools in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff have read just over 175,000 books. Isn't that amazing? Every single person who's heard the total so far has responded with a very loud, "Wow!" And it really is a "wow" inducing number: a number that should make the students, teachers, librarians, and parents taking part feel very proud.
Bookmans will be filming our newest television commercial on Tuesday, April 21st, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bookmans Speedway and we'd like our customers to be part of the action. No acting experience necessary - just you and your love for Bookmans.
The Northern Arizona Book Festival will be taking over Flagstaff this weekend and Bookmans is getting a jumpstart with a few special readings/signings at Bookmans Flagstaff.
Tonight's James Morrison show at the Rialto has been canceled due to illness. And in case you haven't heard, Grizzly Bear's Rialto performance on Thursday, June 18th has also been canceled so that the band can open for Wilco at Centennial Hall that same night. (Those tickets are available at the UofA.) If you bought your tickets at Bookmans, you can refund them at any of our stores.
The weather's warming up, the air conditioner is kicking on, and we have a few notable music-related events happening this weekend for your (cool) enjoyment.
Bookmans Grant needs an experienced, reliable custodian for facility maintenance. Resumes will be accepted for the position until May 10th.
Bookmans and Live Nation want to send you and a friend to see No Doubt and special guests Paramore and The Sounds when they bring their big show to the Valley on Saturday, May 23rd.
Cafe VanGo, Jason Calhoon's excellent coffee van in front of Bookmans Grant, has new business hours, effective immediately: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
Hours before they take the stage at the Rialto Theatre, the Avett Brothers will swing by Bookmans Grant on Thursday, May 7th at 5 p.m. for an intimate in-store performance. Don't miss this rare chance to hear the boys from North Carolina up close and personal, fresh off a tour with Dave Matthews, and playing honest songs for honest folk.
