Bookmans News

This month has been full of events, author signings, birthday parties and more! We've got a few great events left to wrap up the month, so don't miss out. We're also wrapping up our Love of Reading Contest for the month. So far, we've given out $350 in Bookmans gift certificates during the contest, and we've still got seven more $50 gift certificates to give out! Get your entries in by Thursday at 5 p.m. to be eligible for the last round. More on how to enter here.

Thursday and Friday, we'll feature several storytimes and a music hour for the wee ones. At our Grant store, Big B and Mr. T will host their weekly music hour on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In Phoenix, Kirsten will be teaching basic sign language during storytime, also on Thursday, from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Ina, Mesa and Speedway will all host their storytimes on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

In celebration of Love of Reading Month, we're honoring the late, great Dr. Seuss with several birthday parties! Phoenix and Mesa hosted their Seuss-a-thons already this month, but Tucson and Flagstaff will be partying it up on Saturday! Bookmans Grant will be the epicenter for wacky fun in Tucson from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and in Flagstaff, the Downtown Public Library has been gracious enough to let us use their space from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. for our Seuss-tastic event. Bring the whole family to celebrate!

Last but not least, we're hosting the last of our author events this weekend. David N. Alderman, author of the sci-fi/fantasy series “Black Earth” will sign books at Phoenix from noon to 2:00 p.m. On Saturday, wrapping up his signing tour at many of the Bookmans locations. Louise Loughlin, author of “I Must be Dreaming,” a heartfelt biography of her late husband, will be at Mesa for a book signing on Sunday, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
