Customers came up up and away to Bookmans today to celebrate our first Super Hero Day! As part of our Movie Madness month in August, we decided to tie on the capes and squeeze into spandex to honor our favorite super heroes of all time. If you stepped into the store this afternoon, you may have felt like you were entering a mini-comicon with all of the costumes on both our grownup and tiny customers. We met Death Pool from the Arizona Avengers, Bat Girl, mini Kick-Butt, Batman, mini Hit Girl, Ninja Boy, The Flash, and Neo from the Matrix today, all of whom looked fantastic in their costumes. Our employees dolled themselves up in copied characters as well as some they created themselves such as XBOX Girl, Play Station Girl, Space Ghost, an Evil Villain, The Crow and two masked Lucha Libres. We started off our event with our free comic book raffles where we gave away over 30 of our favorite comics and followed up with super hero trivia questions over our intercom and the first and fastest person to answer received great prizes like tin super hero lunches boxes, trade credit, super hero puzzles and one lucky customer went home with a gift certificate to one of our favorite local businesses- Samurai Comics. The folks who dressed up entered our costume contest and the adult winner was Bat Girl! Our child costume contest winner was a tie between mini Kick-Butt boy and mini Hit-Girl who were siblings. Congratulations guys! All three went home with cool Bookmans super hero toys, books and movies.  Everyone had a great time taking photos with each other, winning neat prizes as well as pretending to fight crime. Thank you to all the kids, families and adults who came out to indulge our obsessions with super heroes. So put your creativity to work and get started on your new costume for the next Super Hero Day when our spider senses will be tingling and bat signals will be shining!
