Bookman's Blog
Bookmans Flagstaff had a fantastic pre-Halloween party last Sunday, complete with mask-making, cookie-decorating, and an employee scary sweets contest. All kids in costume got discounts and we had everything from batmen to batteries, puppy-dogs to princesses. One little boy’s dog costume was so realistic that my 12-month-old kept pointing at him and saying “woof!”
The customer-judged scary sweets contest was the best, and it was a tough competition between Regina’s cherry-filled eyeballs, Michael’s giant severed hand cake, and the eventual winner, “Kara’s Kitty Litter Cookies.” Kara’s cookies were tasty no-bakes made of oats, chocolate and peanut butter, swimming in puffed rice “litter” in a box containing a surprised cat. Kara won a new red Bookmans apron and a bit of trade credit for her cleverness. I don’t know about you, but I’m already looking forward to the Flagstaff pie-tasting on November 21st! Stay tuned…
