What is a Seussabration? It's Bookmans Mesa's way of celebrating our Love of Reading and Dr. Seuss's Birthday all in one! A day set aside for silly fun for everyone!

There was so much to do during our Seussabration! We are fortunate that the Cat in the Hat made a special trip to see us and to pose with everyone in our photo booth. Thanks to Hip Pocket Photography everyone left looking their best and with a copy of their photo to take home. Dressing up in silly costumes and giving The Cat in the Hat huge hugs is fun for all ages.

Kiki's Cupcake Service always looks the part and you bet your blue fish that they brought out delicious treats for everyone to snack on and take home! With Yertle The Turtle chocolates, Hop on Popcorn treats, and Thing 1 and Thing 2 cookies, we had enough to fuel our bellies and enough energy to play games!

Kids were delighted with our One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fishing game. We made fishing poles and tried to win free books. Everyone was an excellent fisherman so everyone went home with a new book to read to their family that night. Thank you to My Child's Ready for helping us share the importance of reading.

Our favorite BookPAL, Toni played Dr. Seuss songs and danced, and we learned about rhythm and movement -- all while looking our best in the most fun Dr. Seuss inspired clothing. Making music is fun! To top it all off (see what we did there?) we created a fun Cat in the Hat take-home craft out of a few simple materials. Glue sticks, black pipe cleaners, scissors, crayons and imagination are all you need. We're happy to share the instructions and tempates here and here.
