Arizona's largest film festival is gearing up for its 10th run, starting tomorrow. The 10th annual Phoenix Film Festival begins Thursday, April 8 and runs through Thursday, April 15, 2010.

The festival will feature celebrities like Jimmy Jean Louis (Heroes, Tears of the Sun); Luke Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums); Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar); Graham McTavish (Quantum of Solace); and Rade Sherbedgia (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). The festival will be held at the Harkins Scottsdale 101 and the Cine Capri, at 5000 Mayo Blvd., which is one block South of Loop 101 and one block East of Scottsdale Road.

On Opening Night, the Gala celebration honoring Dan Harkins will start off the festival with the presentation of the festival's first-ever "Visionary Award". This charity event, hosted by KTKV's Tara Hitchcock, will benefit the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Later in the eventing, attendees will be treated to the Arizona Premiere of an upcoming movie release in the Cine Capri.

Bookmans is proud to sponsor Kids' Day at the festival on Saturday, April 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Party Pavilion in the Harkins Scottsdale 101 Theatres. Children 5-12 years old can select from a series of hands-on activity stations focusing on different aspects of film production and geared to various age and ability levels. Stations are age-appropriate and run the full gamut of the filmmaking process. At the conclusion of the activities, the whole family is invited to view the family-friendly film screenings that morning and afternoon for only $5.

The festival events continue throughout the weekend and the next week -- for a full schedule of events, visit the Phoenix Film Festival website. There are still tickets available to this fantastic event:
