Our mothers- aren’t they just marvelous?! They always put themselves last to ensure that their families and duties are always taken care of first. Our mothers dedicate their lives to making sure we stay healthy, happy and raise us to be the strong and independent people we are today. They deserve special treatment every day of the year but especially on Mothers Day. Bookmans understands the sacrifice and dedication that all the moms and mother figures out there provide so we decided to get together and create a little something special for them just for Mothers Day while simultaneously helping “mother” nature! We dedicated our Saturday afternoon to building, painting and decorating wooden birdhouses that we will give to our fantastic moms on their special day coming up next week on May 9th.

The birdie homes were a bit challenging to put together but once we figured it was just like assembling a puzzle, we went to work on making over 40 homes for our feathered friends! The homes ranged from fresh, modern architectural abodes to magical, pink- frosted mansions. The kids painted their homes in the style in which they wished their own houses could look. We added perches, fences, polka dots, stripes and massive amounts of paint to the bird houses and ended up with 40 very unique and stylish homes that will most defiantly be popular and pricey on the bird housing market.

All the kids went home with their painted houses (and some painted clothes and faces) to give to their mommies and I’m sure she’ll be impressed with their creativeness and all the hard work they put into them. I know I’m saving the bird house I created and will most certainly be giving it to my beautifully, wonderful, amazingly warm hearted, strong willed mother (along with a gift certificate to her favorite beauty salon of course)!
