Since the Reading Challenge started in 2007, we have surpassed over 1,000,000 books read by Arizona students! 2010 has been a record-breaking year in the challenge, with 654,107 books read by students in January and February of this year alone! That is simply amazing!

This month's prize for the top-performing second or third grade class Tucson goes to Ms. Rebecca Engel's second grade class at Senita Valley Elementary in Tucson. This incredibly dedicated class read an average of 213 books per student – that's over seven books a day! This class will receive an all-expenses-paid field trip to Bookmans, where the students will experience a fabulous store tour and leave with new books and new Bookmans t-shirts!
