The Mandalorian Mercs have stepped out of their Star Wars world and into Bookmans Phoenix for a special Star Wars story time as part of our summer kids events. We’ve asked the Mercs to come in and read some of their favorite kids books to our eagerly awaiting tiny customers. They chose two Star Wards picture books and a couple other animal-related books in honor of animal month in July to read aloud.

The Mercs sent out some of their best guys, including Thomas, Josh and Allen. The three of them geared up and took charge of our community room with their fun readings and one could never guess that this was their very first story time. After story time, everyone got an opportunity to take a photo with them and then they toured our sales floor, working in our electronics and cashier departments and even going through some deals at the trade counter!

They do these visits and appearances all over the Valley not for persona gain, but for charitable donations towards organizations of their choice. The friendly and personable Mandalorian Mercs want to give back to their community and they are doing a great job focusing attention on some of the great causes going on in Phoenix.

You can catch them again this Sunday at The Lego Store at Chandler Mall promoting the new Lego Star Wars video game. Make sure you friend them on Facebook so you can stay updated on where you can catch them next! We want to extend a huge thank you to Thomas, Josh and Allen for being such great storytellers and sharing their love of Star Wars with us. Check out the great pictures on Flickr.

See you at next week's final summer kids event where we say goodbye to summer and hello to school at our back to school party!

That would have been awesome.
I wish they would do that at the Bookman's on Speedway here in Tucson
