Bookman's Blog

Last night Bookmans Phoenix was taken over by the third graders at Madison Simis Elementary. With the help of their Art teachers, Mr. Bilger, the students created amazing paper mache sculptures that our Phoenix location will have on display all month long. During the month of March we are celebrating all types of arts & crafts. Paper mache is just among the many! Each student was asked to create a sculture of a new species that combines the qualities of tow animals. They also drew an illustrations of their animal and wrote an article explaining the fascinating facts about each of their new found creations!

While the students ooh and awed over seeing their creatures on display they also enjoyed food and drink as a reward for all of their creative effort. Twenty-five of our favorite creature articles were placed around the store. Each student was then given a Scavenger Hunt sheet with ten questions about the various Creature Creations. Every student who turned in their sheet with the correct answers received a $10 Bookmans Kids Certificated! It was fun to watch the students work in teams with other third graders and their parents.

Thank you again Mr. Bilger and to the third grade students of Madison Simis for sharing your wonderful creativity with us. Customers and employees are delighted to discover new and interesting animals every time they pass by the display!
