We are looking for the right person to fill our Corporate Facilities Manager position. We understand the importance of providing customers and employees with an exceptional environment to shop, work, gather for events or just hang out. As the Corporate Facilities Manager you are vital in ensuring we offer the finest experience possible in our stores and Event Center. You will be involved in facility decisions at every level from re-lamping to ensuring the best toilet paper in the restrooms. We need someone who can help us accomplish this while keeping budget and customer experience in mind.

Our corporate office is a highly collaborative workplace where we make decisions as a team so you’ll need to be comfortable working with people at all levels. You will work with contractors and vendors, store managers and facility managers, the corporate design team, the marketing team and directly with the owner and COO of Bookmans. This energetic group supports all of the Bookmans retail stores across Arizona, our online fulfillment center and warehouse and the Bookmans Event Center, so travel is sometimes required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Physical Plant Maintenance
• Provide facility management for the Bookmans Resource Center building systems, physical plant, utilities and ergonomic work stations.
• Coordinate and schedule all routine maintenance and repairs for corporate facility, keeping a written record of all maintenance actions, executed repairs and costs.
• When required, prepare cost studies and develop standardized maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures company-wide.
• Monitor the company-wide security system.
• Manage key control for all company facilities.
• Update and expand the Building Operations Manual for all stores and Warehouse.
• Acquire competitive bids for all company-wide facility related services.
• Act as a landlord management liaison for all locations and review CAM reconciliations as needed.
• Administer Project Management for construction renovations, coordinating with the stores, Warehouse, construction department and contractors.
• Knowledge of construction methods and technical specifications, familiar with millwork techniques and finishing materials and understanding the mechanical aspects of building components.
• Manage work of vendors and contractors by communicating needs and expectations, scheduling, monitoring, inspecting, following up, payment procedures and keeping all service records.
• Maintain Facility and Construction department records at the Resource Center for corporate renovations, store renovations, new store design and construction.
• Assist in the preparation and revision of facility related store budgets and capital project budgets.
• Prepare and approve facilities invoices for payment, track according to budget, while continually evaluating facility operating expenses.
• Be a resource to all store staff, especially Facility Managers.
• Conduct store site inspections and follow up for desired results.
• Acts as a mentor to the Facility Managers to develop their facility management skills, as in: proactive problem solving, cost containment procedures, vendor and project management.
• Work on projects as directed by the President and Executive Vice President.
Job Conditions
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes and/or unpleasant odors or matter. Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks that require following basic safety precautions. Other working conditions include evening/weekend work, traveling to all the stores and being on call for emergencies.
