If you like to be mellow on Halloween, and don no more than a witch hat to open the door for kids, you may want to avoid downtown Flagstaff this weekend. From Tequila Sunrise through Halloween night, the town will be full of the drunk and undead. If, however, you spend much of the fall planning your costume, and like to party like it's 1999, you won't be alone this weekend.

The Orpheum has a three-day celebration planned for the Halloween weekend, beginning with the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” There will be two separate showings: 8 p.m. for the 18-and-older crowd, and midnight for those 21 and up. Doors open an hour before each screening. Tickets are $5 at the door.

A Halloween party with theatrical band Yin Yang and Zen Some will keep the celebration going with their all- ages performance scheduled for Sat, Oct. 30 at 9 p.m.

Keeping the momentum going, the final celebration of the weekend is an all-ages Halloween dance party complete with a $100 cash prize given to the best costume of the night. Both Saturday and Sunday will also have a $5 cover charge.

Mia's Lounge hosts the annual Zombie Prom on Sat, Oct. 30. The great DJ line-up includes John of the Dead, Grave Luv, Headless Eric and others. The turntable tunes will be followed by a special midnight performance of the always-theatrical (and often nearly nude) I Hate You When You’re Pregnant.

Go to the Green Room if you prefer your pre-Halloween funky, hosting Flag's best funk band, Brothers Gow and Low Cash. The show starts at 9 p.m. on Sat, Oct. 30 and there will be a light show and a costume contest. On Halloween, the Green Room hosts a “Skaraoke” on Halloween night. The winner of the costumed karaoke contest will receive a $100 prize. Skaraoke starts at 9 p.m. and is 21-plus.

Have a screamin' good time, but remember: don't drink and fly!

It sounds like Flagstaff is the place to be this weekend. My weekend is probably going to consist of dressing children up, escorting children around, and then inspecting candy. I would much rather be doing skaraoke. San Diego Divorce Lawyer

I have seen that don't drink and fly picture before. It's pretty funny. Skaraoke looked like a lot of fun. I hope they do it again this year. Tallahassee DUI Lawyer
