Bookmans is a proud supporter of literacy and music education programs throughout our community. We believe that a love of reading, music and the arts is developed and fostered at an early age, and that's why all of our Bookmans stores are proud to offer free storytime and music events for kids.
 

At our Mesa store, Storytime with Toni is a wonderful way to find great new children's books and experience some great activities as well. Toni reads stories every Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. This week's books have a squeaky theme! They'll include “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Joffe Numeroff, “Frederick” by Leo Lionni, “Hooway for Wodney Wat” by Helen Lester, and “A Country Mouse in the Town House” by Henrietta. As an extra-special treat this week, Toni will be painting mouse faces on everyone! And don't forget about the cookies...
 
The Mesa store also offers a weekly American Sign Language (ASL) learning event for kids, parents and everyone in between! Jessika teaches us basic signs each Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. It's a fun and interactive way for all ages and levels to learn more about ASL, for free!
 
If you're in the Phoenix metro area and can't make the Wednesday ASL class, our Phoenix store offers Sign Time with Kirsten, our new ASL instructor, each Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Toddlers and parents are welcome to our new fun and free class for youngsters.
 
In Tucson, our Ina location hosts storytime each Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Stop in for an hour of hand-selected stories for your little ones, and enjoy a complimentary snack, drink and fun coloring activity, too!
 
The Speedway location also hosts storytime and coloring activities on Fridays from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. This week we're featuring fun food stories, including “Tortillas” by Margarita Gonzalez-Jenson, “Bear and Bunny Grow Tomatoes” by Bruce Koscielniak, “Today is Monday” by Eric Carle, and “Hey, Pancakes!” by Tamson Weston.
 
If you're child is more of a mover and a shaker, we've got that covered, too, with our music hours! The Grant store hosts Tunes for Tots Music Hour with Big B and Mr. T each Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., where we'll play a few songs, learn a little about instruments, ham it up and jam it up!
 
Or, you can check out Music Hour with Nature at our Speedway location each Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., where you can make your own fabulous sounds. We'll have lots of different instruments to play, we'll make up songs, learn about sounds, sing, dance and have a rocking good time.
