One of our favorite children's book authors, Erin Saelens, creator of Bot Tots, has a great new YouTube video out of her book Cog Corner Goes Green! Join the Botbergs and the O’Gearys on their first adventure of many as they rally their Tiny Bot friends to join a recycling crew. Can Tiny Bots motivate Big Bots to go green? Will Cog Corner ever be sparkling clean? Check out the video:

Erin Saelens was a dedicated case manager for Child Protective Services for the State of Arizona prior to having her first and only daughter in December of 2008. She graduated with an MSPM from Boston University right before her daughter was born. She quickly realized two things: One, she wanted to stay at home with her daughter. And two, she was bored with the drab organic clothing available for infants and children.

Inspired by one of her favorite Christmas ornaments, Erin began drawing little robot characters. She envisioned them going on adventures together learning about how to be kind to the environment and the community. Erin eventually decided not to go back to work, but still felt a very strong connection to the foster youth with whom she worked. So there began her journey building Bot Tots Buddies from the ground up.

In an effort to stay connected to the special foster care community, Bot Tots pledges to donate 5% of all proceeds to In My Shoes, Inc., an organization that provides mentors and social events for foster youth. They promise to always provide high-quality, environmentally-friendly apparel and merchandise. The Bot Tots clothing line is made from organic materials, and their books are printed on recycled paper.

Erin has a goal of "brightening children's wardrobes around the world" while doing her part to help brighten the environment. Bot Tots recently finished their first of a series of books printed on 100% recycled material, Cog Corner Goes Green and hopes to continue the series in an effort to teach kids about being kind to the environment and community.
