The Phoenix Chapter of the Zombie Research Society has a new home for public meetings: Bookmans Phoenix! We’re working with the ZRS to bring you the best and latest information on zombie ANYTHING! We sat in on the Zombie Research Society’s first public meeting, as did a College New Times rep (to spread the word to other zombie lovers) and in less than an hour, we learned how to pack a “Bug Out Bag” which can be used for any emergency situation, not just zombie attacks. The bag included items like flints, dental floss, cast iron skillet, first aid kit, chains, maps and travel information, crowbars, duct tape, medicine and much more. The group is focused on desert specifics scenarios and problems that one might encounter in order to promote a sense of understanding and preparation in any dangerous situation for anyone in Arizona. The ZRS informed us of how we can become a member and what the Phoenix Chapter’s goals are for the upcoming year and let me just tell you, Phoenix is in store for some exciting zombie related events! We also discussed that in future meetings; they’ll cover topics like safe locations in Phoenix in case of outbreaks, the science behind zombies and will keep us informed of other zombie-tastic fun all over the valley. If you missed out on this meeting, join us next month on August 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for another meeting. There is no cost to join the society. Thank you to Zoe, Ryan and Veronica for being our ZRS reps and to all the people who came out to educate themselves about the undead! You can check out pictures from our meeting on Flickr.
