HoCo Record Festival 2009

We'll be enjoying Labor Day ourselves this coming Monday, Sept. 7th, with abbreviated store hours - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. - at all Bookmans locations, but we still have plenty of activity going on in the stores and the community this weekend.

In the mood for music? At Bookmans Flagstaff on Friday, Sept. 4th, at 4 p.m., Tony Norris and Bill Burke bring their old time tunes to the Cafe, while Ashu Thakur will provide an inspiring tabla drum performance at Bookmans Grant tonight, 5-6 p.m.

You'll have a few opportunities to catch Bookmans at the HoCo Festival on Saturday: We'll be hauling down a bunch of vinyl to sell at the third HoCo Record Festival in Club Congress, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., which is free and open to the public, and we're also sponsoring the Kids' Crafting Area at the HoCo Family Fun Fest, 2-8 p.m. For more information on this huge event, visit the official HoCo Fest website.

Looking to add another member to your family? AZ Greyhound Rescue will be at Bookmans Ina on Saturday, Sept. 5th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Save the Pets AZ will be at Bookmans Grant from noon to 4 p.m. that same day.

And the Arizona Browncoats hold their monthly shindig at Bookmans Phoenix this Saturday, Sept. 5th, at 7 p.m. The gathering is open to the public so if you're a Joss Whedon/Firefly/Serenity fan, here's where you'll find kindred spirits.
