Bookmans News
If any of you know our owner, Bob, then you know he has a passion for electric vehicles. And you've probably seen the old electric car charging station that we've had at our Grant location for years. Well, this morning we made groundbreaking progress as we jackhammered away the old charging station to prepare for the installation of a more efficient EV station, manufactured by Coulomb Technologies.
Colleen Crowninshield from Tucson Clean Cities Coalition was present to oversee the progress. Bookmans has been a long time member of the coalition, which promotes the use of clean fuels and clean-fuel vehicles in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities Program. The coalition coordinates with member jurisdictions to develop clean-fueling infrastructure, advance the understanding of the benefits of clean-fuel vehicles, and works to develop Clean Corridors on interstate highways and trade routes.
Today's efforts are another step toward making the Grant location a greener place to shop and Tucson a greener place to live. To see pictures of the progress we made today, check out our flickr page and make sure you join us for the kick-off celebration and grand introduction of the new EV charging station at our Grant Location on December 19, 2009.
