Science is wicked cool and we are eagerly collaborating on the First Annual Arizona SciTech Festival. The Arizona SciTech Festival runs from February to March and offers a variety hands-on activities and workshops, conversations and debates, exhibitions, concerts, guided walks and tours in the coolest locations in Arizona. Our goal is to showcase Arizona as a national leader in science, technology and innovation.

Bookmans Mesa launches a new series Bookmans Science Café in collaboration with the amazing volunteers of The Arizona SciTech Festival and Desert Rivers Audubon at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21. The City of Mesa chose to celebrate Arizona's Centennial with a yearlong exploration of flight, an integral part of Mesa's history and economy, so the first three Bookmans Science Cafés will take on flight too. From dragonflies to Boeing engineers, our Science Cafés will create a casual atmosphere to meet local scientists and engineers in the name of Science. Ask lots of questions, learn something new, meet new people and enjoy free Bookmans Café House Blend Coffee! We will round out each night with a Science Pub Quiz where you can win prizes! Follow @bookmansmesa on Twitter for code words for Café specials. By attending you can help us decide topics for future Science Cafés that will be held on the first Tuesday of every month. We told you science was cool.

Our friends at AzSciTechFest will visit multiple Bookmans locations throughout the festival. Check out our online calendar for other science-themed events and involvement. Join community friends, neighbors, state and local dignitaries for the official launch of the Arizona SciTech Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Arizona Science Center. Be prepared to be enlightened as you walk into an atmosphere of science, technology and creativity featuring Innovations in Bioscience throughout the Center! The second best part? It's free!
