Bookmans is very pleased to announce that the winner of the 2010 Bookmans’ Reading Challenge is Academy Adventures Primary School in Tucson! This school pushed itself to the limit in March to emerge triumphant and the winner of a $15,000 cash prize! At the end of the three-month challenge, the hardworking students at Academy Adventures had read an astounding average of 329 books per student--that’s over 3 books a day! Congratulations to the students and staff at Academy Adventures on a job very well done!

Students from our 2nd place winner, Senita Valley Elementary, read an incredible average of 214 books per student and our 3rd place winner, Hudlow Elementary, read an amazing average of 160 books per student! Our second and third place winners will each receive a $1,000 gift certificate to Bookmans!

The award for top-performing 4th or 5th grade class goes to Ms. Elizabeth Casolari’s class at Senita Valley Elementary. Ms. Casolari’s students read an average of 91 books per student during the month of March – way to go!

This year’s results were simply astonishing, and we are truly impressed by the commitment shown by all of the schools in this year’s challenge! Throughout the three months of the 2010 Bookmans’ Reading Challenge, participating Arizona students read over 1,063,380 books – that’s over 1 million books in just 85 days! Congratulations again to all of this year's winners, and thank you to all of the schools and students who participated. We can't wait for next year's challenge!
