Bookman's Blog

We may be almost halfway through summer, but at Bookmans, we’re still running full force with our summer kids events. Today we welcomed the Arizona Animal Welfare League and their educational class about how to properly interact with a dog and read their body language to keep you safe. Two reps for the AAWL who tour Phoenix as the “Mutt-ley Crew” showed up with Vienna (the basset hound mix) to demonstrate step by step how you should interact with a dog you see on the street with or without an owner.

Everyone got their turn practicing their new meeting dog rules with Vienna who befriended everyone there. They also gave parents some great information and resources about their facility in downtown Phoenix where you can get your furry friends clipped, groomed, trained or even adopt a new one!

Thanks to the AAWL for taking the time to help keep our kids safe and teach them at an early age that dogs can be man's best friend, but you must learn how to respect them. Also Vienna is up for adoption so if you check out our pictures and would enjoy her fun and exciting company, contact the AAWL for more info! Check out pictures from our event on Flickr.
