Read More...Thank you to all of the customers and employees who donated to the St. Mary's Food Bank Food Drive at our Phoenix and Mesa locations during the month of July. Due to your kindness and generosity we were able to donate 702 pounds of food! That equates to 702 meals placed on the tables of families in our community.
Read More...I've worked at Bookmans for six years now and fancy myself an "expert" in many fields of knowledge. We don't have computers to look up inventory, which essentially forces Bookmans employees to "just know." It's very Tao. As employees we occasionally get big heads about our amassed knowledge. Then we get a request/book look that just knocks us off our knowledge mountain and reminds us that we do not "know" everything. One such event happened to me last weekend.
Read More...We wrapped up our annual Summer Kids Events with music, raffles, games, and parties this past week, and said hello to a brand new school year. Thanks to the customers of all ages who learned, created, and had fun with us this year!

Read More...Mychael started drawing at the age of three. His mother Star, a talented artist herself, was his first encouragement. She taught him light and shadow techniques and perspective at a very early age. His most vivid memory of their early drawing sessions is when she demonstrated a lighted and slightly melted candle in a dark room; the way the flame had a corona and how each drip of wax had its own elongated shadow beneath it. It was a very entrancing moment and it probably laid the foundation for his eventual “style”.
