From Friday, March 20th through Sunday, March 22nd, you can help support the Valley's only independent art house theater by putting your money where your fun is. Chandler Cinemas is celebrating its second year in operations with a three-day spectacle of live music, zombies, a Saw movie marathon, a Repo! The Genetic Opera event featuring Alexa Vega, Terrance Zdunich, and Darren Smith, a Saw and Repo! prop auction, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and numerous screenings of cult and grindhouse classics.

Mustache Day started as a Speedway store tradition but observance of all things 'stache soon trickled to our other stores; now we have a time-honored tradition on our hands. As Grant Store Manager Marshall puts it: "All degrees of face whisker are encouraged, from moustache fingers to Groucho greasepainters. In fact often the most busted-looking soup strainer is a fan favorite." Big thanks to the customers and employees who made Mustache Day 2009 a big hairy success. Seven-time Spur Award and four-time Western Heritage Award winner Elmer Kelton has written over 40 novels over the past 50 years, including The Texas Rangers, the Hewey Calloway, and the Buckalew Family series, his memoir Sandhills Boy, and his newest novel, Many A River. Kelton will be the Tucson Festival of Books guest of honor at the Writing Westerns: A Conversation with a Living Legend, Elmer Kelton panel in the Gallagher Theatre on Sunday, March 15th at 10 a.m.
