EVENTS: Double Your Pleasure with Retro Raunch-A-Rama

        BY: MIDNITE MOVIE MAMACITA

The Mamacita is at it again - a happy hooker and a deathbed bordello spice up Chandler Cinemas' ho shebang at Grindhouse Redux! Catch this ultra-trashy double feature of My Pleasure is My Business and Forbidden Pleasure on Fri, May 23 and Sat, May 24.

Grindhouse Redux is presented by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange.

Looking for more "bang" for your buck? Welcome to the Midnite Movie Mamacita's latest Grindhouse Redux, where the customer always comes first!

Yes, the Valley's Big Mama of B-Movies is pulling out every trick in the book as she presents her latest Grindhouse Redux, a celluloid salute to the sleazy scarlet ladies of Grade C cinema. The working girl double-header screens Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 24, at the Chandler Cinemas.

This retro red light special begins with a rare screening of My Pleasure is My Business, a 1975 sex romp featuring the only film appearance of real-life "happy hooker" Xaviera Hollander. Loosely based on Hollander's post flat-backing travails - the notorious $1000-a-night call girl/madam was deported from the U.S. in the early seventies after Feds busted her Manhattan cathouse - the nudity-laced laff riot about a hooker without a country might be best described as Benny Hill with a strap-on.

Then slip into something decidedly less comfortable with the dark Forbidden Pleasure, a "lost" 1969 oldie-but-sickie aimed at the fledgling "adults only" market. Learning that he only has one month to live, a dying (but still very horny) millionaire attempts to slack his insatiable deathbed lust with a succession of sickroom seductresses who charge $1,000-a-night. (No wonder hookers were so happy back then.) But in a surprise climax that looks like it was lifted right out of a gamey urban legend, he realizes, on his last night on earth, that he has inadvertently committed the ultimate taboo...and, well, they didn't title it Forbidden Pleasure for nothing.

        Friday, May 23
My Pleasure is My Business at 9 p.m.
        Forbidden Pleasure at 11 p.m.

        Saturday, May 24
        My Pleasure is My Business at 5 p.m. & 9 p.m.
        Forbidden Pleasure at 7 p.m. & 11 p.m.

Admission is $6 and is for patrons 18 and over. The Chandler Cinemas are located at 2140 N. Arizona Boulevard, Chandler (behind Target), 480-821-1605. More info at the official Midnite Movie Mamacita website.

These screenings are amazing! Remember, MST3K? Yeah, it's kinda like that. ;)
