"The pop culture lights shine bright at the Phoenix Comicon," says Convention Director Matt Solberg. "From those who grew up reading comic books under the covers to those who cheered the Rebels on in Star Wars, we offer something for everyone who has a little bit of geek in them."

"Only at the Phoenix Comicon can you meet Vulcans, superheroes, anime ninjas, zombies, and other characters found in your imagination," says Solberg.
In addition to the media guests, superstar comic book creators such as Arthur Suydam (Marvel Zombies), David Finch (The Incredible Hulk), Ed McGuiness (Superman and Batman), and Matt Wagner (Batman) will be attending. Anime voice actors Greg Ayres, Michelle Ruff, and Luci Christian will be hosting panels and meeting fans.
"You don't need to wear a cape to enjoy the Phoenix Comicon," offers Joe Boudrie, Director of Programming. "But if you do, you might win the Masquerade Costume Contest!"
The Phoenix Comicon offers a full weekend of events, from the Zombie Beauty Pageant to Jedi lightsaber training for kids. A Japanese Fashion Show, Art Auction, musical performance by Star Trek's Tim Russ, costume contest, dance, and anime dodgeball are just a handful of the 166 hours of programming being offered.
The Phoenix Comicon is January 26-27 at the Mesa Convention Center. Doors open on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. Full even tickets are $25, with single day passes available for Saturday ($20) and Sunday ($15). Kids 10 and under get in free with a paid adult. Tickets are available online and at Phoenix/Mesa area comic book stores.
The Phoenix Comicon is Arizona's largest multimedia, popular arts convention, focusing on comic books, anime, gaming, music, and film. The COmicon presents a full weekend schedule of guests and programming for hobbyists by attracting the top segments of the comics, anime, and gaming worlds.
