Grindhouse Redux presents Anguish and Blood Rage - and body parts aplenty! - at a Chandler Cinemas double feature on Dec 21 and 22. Don't miss out on this weekend of slasher classics.
Grindhouse Redux is presented by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange.
Scream and scream again! The Midnite Movie Mamacita will make you jump out of your seats and skin with two oldies-but-goodies from the Grindhouse Redux vaults on Friday and Saturday evening, Dec. 21 and 22.
First up is "Anguish" (1987), a blood-curdling Euro slasher made on a shoestring budget by Spanish auteur Bigas Luna. "Anguish" is a surreal tale of a deranged momma's boy and his violent quest of becoming a doctor. His momma (played by Zelda Rubinstein, the creepy little lady from "Poltergeist") stars in this psychedelic splatter-fest. It will be presented in a rare 35mm print at 9 p.m.
Next, more blood and gore, this time from the home soil with "Blood Rage" (1987). Terry and Todd are twins. Todd is blamed and mistakenly put away while his maniacal brother Terry runs lose after a killing at a drive-in. Terry can't stop killing and goes on an all-out murder spree resulting in some catastrophic and gory consequences. The bloody mess plays at 11 p.m., in 35mm - the way it was meant to be seen!
Admission is $6, cash only, no single feature discounts. (No ATM on site.) The Chandler Cinemas are located at 2140 N. Arizona Boulevard, Chandler (behind Target).
