Scream and scream again! The Midnite Movie Mamacita will make you jump out of your seats and skin with a weekend of filmic and musical specialties on January 25 & 26. Come check out What Waits Below and the premier of the new Zombeast music video.
Grindhouse Redux is presented by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange.
First up on Friday, Jan. 25 at 9 p.m. is "What Waits Below" (1984), a bizarre story of an underground research group and their encounter with hostile albinos in a subterranean world. "What Waits Below" pits researchers against Lemurians (underground Albino race) with violent and unintentionally comical outcomes including a ravenous, giant, underground snake-like creature who takes on local cave expert Santos (guess who wins?). This will be followed by the premier of the music video from local gothic rock group Zombeast ,who will then follow up with a live performance in the theater kicking off at 11 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, for those who didn't get enough of the underground action, "What Waits Below" plays again at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Then adding to the fun will be a "surprise" film at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. The Mamacita's lips are sealed about this particular title but reveals that it is a repeat favorite from the 2007 summer series of films that people will love to see terrorize the big screen again!

Followed by a repeat screening of a favorite film from the 2007 "Attack of the Summer Movies" series at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Admission is $6, cash only, no single feature discounts. (No ATM on site.) The Chandler Cinemas are located at 2140 N. Arizona Boulevard, Chandler (behind Target).
