Bookmans actively fights censorship and promotes freedom of expression at every opportunity. We believe people have the right to read, view, and listen to what they want.
The question is not whether we should sell something but whether we can sell something.
Although Bookmans supports freedom of expression every day, each September we highlight this belief with a Fight Censorship campaign. Through creative visual merchandising and unique eye-catching displays, each store encourages customers to learn more about books that have been banned and other media that has been censored. Our goal is to increase overall awareness to the dangers of censorship and the importance of the First Amendment.
