An incredible roster of literary talent will be dropping by BOOKMANS FLAGSTAFF this month as the internationally-regarded Northern Arizona Book Festival moves into full swing on April 25th and 26th.
On Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m., Jill Divine's Coconino Community College creative-writing students will be reading from their original work.
On Wednesday, April 23, at 7 p.m., writer/actor Evan Handler will read from his upcoming memoir, It's Only Temporary: The Good News and the Bad News About Being Alive, out May 1st on Riverhead.
Evan Handler is an actor best known as Harry Goldenblatt (Kristen Davis' husband) from HBO’s Sex and the City and the author of the critically acclaimed memoir Time on Fire: My Comedy of Terrors. Handler currently co-stars in Showtime’s hit series Californication co-starring David Duchovny. His past acting credits include Lost, The West Wing, Ransom, and Taps. Handler also has written for Elle, Mirabella, O, the Oprah Magazine, USA Weekend, and The New Yorker, and writes a blog for The Huffington Post. He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.
On Thursday April 24th, BOOKMANS FLAGSTAFF employees will be having a "dress as your favorite literary character day." Customers, of course, are encouraged to join in on the fun!
Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, Bookmans employees will be giving away free B.O.B. stuff at the Northern Arizona Book Festival. Special guests at this year's event include Dorothy Allison, Greg Pape, Tim Seibles, and Sean Carswell, plus dozens more reknowned authors.
On Sunday, April 27, beginning at 10 a.m. in the BOOKMANS FLAGSTAFF cafe, we will have meet-and-greet with many of the Book Festival authors, who will be available for chatting, questions, and book signing. There will be breakfast snacks provided.
